Krishna's wicked uncle Kamsa was very angry. He sent a whirlwind-demon named Trinavarta to finish off Lord Krishna. At the same time, Lord Krishna, who was carried by his mother Yashoda, had come to know of this through his divine powers and made himself heavy on her lap. He wanted to support the intent of Trinavarta just so that he could slay the wicked demon.![]() |

Yashoda had to finally put him down on the floor, finding him very heavy. She left him and went away to do some housework. Taking both the opportunity and the form of a powerful tornado, Trinavarta kidnapped baby Krishna, and spun him high into the sky. Trinavarta flew higher and higher up into the sky so that he could drop down Lord Krishna and kill him. ![]() |

Krishna made himself unbearably heavy for Trinavarta too. Trinivarta was unable to carry Krishna and the demon's massive body came crashing down, and with it his hopes of killing Krishna. The demon's limbs and pride were both smashed to pieces by the transcendent baby Krishna, who emerged without a scratch.![]() |

One day Krishna's brother Balarama rushed to Yashoda: he said: "Mother! Krishna is eating mud. His body is all covered with mud and his mouth is full of it." Just then the lovely Krishna came to Yashoda. His face and body were indeed covered with mud. Yashoda was worried and questioned Krishna, "Oh dear, You naughty child! Have you eaten mud? Tell me the truth."

Lord Krishna insisted,"Oh no, mother! Brother is lying. I have not even touched mud." Yashoda grew very anxious and chided Krishna, "Enough! Let me see your mouth." Krishna opened his mouth and Yashoda looked into it. She was taken aback by what she saw. She beheld the whole universe in Krishna's mouth. The Earth, heaven, hell and the whole cosmos. She also saw herself looking into Krishna's mouth, inside his mouth! As she looked she was dazzled. She was terrified and folded her hands and closed her eyes, thinking that her child is no ordinary one but a divine incarnation. Lord Krishna did not want his dear mother to think so. He fondled her with his soft little hand, and Yashoda forgot all that she saw. She lovingly hugged her dear child.
